EPIDEMIOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT OF MEASLES INCIDENCE AMONG VACCINATED AND UNVACCINATED CHILDREN IN THE CITY OF JALAL-ABAD

An epidemiological analysis of measles in Jalal-Abad (2023-2024) revealed a critical dependence of measles incidence on vaccination status: the proportion of unvaccinated children among those infected rose to 89.7%. The analysis of measles cases among the pediatric population of Jalal-Abad from 2023 to 2024 clearly demonstrated a direct link between the absence of vaccination and the risk of illness. In 2024, the proportion of unvaccinated children among measles cases significantly increased from 64% to an alarming 89.7% compared to 2023. Of particular concern is the rise in incidence among children whose vaccination was not carried out according to the age-appropriate schedule, increasing from 26% to 39.7%. In response to this trend and in accordance with the directive of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, additional immunization campaigns were organized, reaching 8,165 children aged one to six years. Importantly, in 2024, the incidence among children who received prophylactic vaccinations decreased by 4.2%, highlighting the protective role of vaccination in the fight against measles.
