This article studies the biological and ecological aspects of the Tupolev's bastard beetle (Hylesinus tupolevi Stark) in walnut-fruit forests of southern Kyrgyzstan. Research conducted between 2021 and 2025 identified the characteristics of its development, ecology, and competitiveness. The species strictly colonizes weakened trees, especially when the sanitary condition of the stands is compromised, which creates breeding grounds. Overwintering occurs as an adult, with widespread ice formation observed in May. Generation is annual, with development lasting 73–85 days. Female fertility reaches 114 eggs. Survival is determined by climatic conditions and food supply. The main mortality factors are adverse weather conditions and entomophages. Higher population rates are observed at the southern and western forest edges, due to temperature conditions.
